Sharing on how to Restore Historic Photos

When talking about history, it is often only described in words, which is not enough. Not only because the long text is boring, but also because the text may not be able to present all the details. But if there are old photos from that time, you can record the pictures of that era in great detail. Even the parts that the original photographer didn't notice will be recorded in the photos. David, the founder of the famous Hong Kong history website Gwulo.com, will bring us a series of old Hong Kong pictures this time, and take a closer look at every detail with you. However, the old pictures usually have a problem, that is, the picture quality is too poor. The photography technology at that time was not so advanced, and the images were often blurry, especially in black and white. but! Now it turns out that there are many new technologies that can help restore past images. This time, David will share what technology he used to make the pictures in the book clear and restore the details of his own scenery. Sometimes, it's not enough to discuss history with plain texts. Long articles themselves are not as attractive as a start, but sometimes it's difficult to present every detail with words. Old photos, however, capture every tiny bit of the scene, including those the Photographers themselves were not aware of. In this talk, David from the well-known Hong Kong history website, Gwulo.com, will share a series of photos of old Hong Kong, and to look at the information we can find from these photos.
